Who can enter the Diversity Atlantic Awards, presented by TD and Advocate?

The Diversity Atlantic Awards, presented by TD and Advocate, is open to legal residents of Atlantic Canada who are 18 years of age and older, employees, directors, and officers of TD and Advocate, and its parent companies, affiliates, franchisees, subsidiaries, distributors, representatives, advertising and promotional agencies, agents, sponsors, and any entity that they contract with specific to the Awards, as well as the immediate family members, and any persons domiciled with any of the above (whether related or not), are not eligible to win an Award.  If you own or manage a business operated in Atlantic Canada, you are eligible to participate in the Diversity Atlantic Awards, presented by TD and Advocate. Your products must be physically made in Atlantic Canada and be available for sale.

How is diversity defined for the purpose of these awards?

Diversity represents a broad range of experiences from health impairments or neurodiversity to socioeconomic background, ethnicity, or starting life in a new country.

What is the deadline for submission?

July 31, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. ADT.

How do I nominate or submit an essay?

Please submit using the submission form provided with supporting content to submission@diversityatlanticawards.ca by 11:59 p.m. on July 31, 2024.

How long should the essay be?

Submission essays should be no less than 500 words and should not exceed 1,200 words.

Can I submit supporting materials with my essay?

Additional supporting material is welcome and can include logos, photos, video, supporting articles and testimonials. (Video content should not exceed 10 minutes.)

What criteria will the judges be specifically looking for?

Your product or service must be physically made in Atlantic Canada and be available for sale to consumers. Products and services in each category will be judged on a variety of factors, including:

Restrictions

Open only to residents of Atlantic Canada who are 18 years of age or older. Subject to all federal, provincial, and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited. Limit of one (1) entry per business.

Can I submit samples of my products for the judges to use and/or try?

A tasting panel may be set up for the finalists in the “Consumptive Retail Products” category, and finalists may be asked to submit a sample.

If the judges are interested in sampling your product, you will be notified. Please only send us your product if you receive an email request.

When is the judging period?

The judging period will take place from August 15, 2024 to September 15, 2024. The judging period will follow the close of the entry period (March 1, 2024, beginning at 12:00 a.m. ADT through July 31, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. ADT). Winners will be notified by telephone or via email.

Is there a prize?

Yes. There will be three (3) prizes awarded per category for a total of nine (9) prizes.

Prizes have no equivalent cash value, are non-transferable and no substitutions will be made. Prizes must be accepted as awarded. The Administrators reserve the right to substitute any Prize for one of equal or greater value for any reason. Participants are responsible for all costs not expressly described as being included as part of the Prize, such as taxes and any fee associated with the receipt and/or use of the Prize. If the Prize cannot be mailed, winners are responsible for picking up their prizes at the disclosed locations. All terms and conditions apply to the Prize.

How will I know if my submission won?

Winners will be contacted by telephone. The winning selections will be final and binding in all respects.

When will the winners be announced?

The winners will be announced publicly on October 15, 2024.

Will my product still be featured online if it is not a winner?

No. Only nine category finalists will be featured in the winning entries feature.
